Kumano Kodo Trail
Let the Adventure Begin:
Day 1: Short hike lead by your private knowledgeable professional guide along the UNESCO world heritage pilgrimage trail between Takijiri-oji and Takahara. Uncover the ancestries of Japanese spiritual ethnicity. The area is a blessed with numerous Shinto Shrines, Buddhism Temples and Shugendo.
※ Before leave from Kyoto station buy Lunch Box for Lunch.
08:06 am : Train JR Kyoto-kine Shinkaisoku , arrives at 8:31am Shin-Osaka 09:03 am : Limited express train “Kuroshio No.3” from Shin-Osaka station 11:22 am : Arrive at Kii-Tanabe station 11:35 am : Ryujin Bus from Kii-Tanabe to Takijiri-Oji 12:13 pm : Takijiri-Oji * Beginning of Nakahechi Route Lunch at entrance of Takijiri at Kumano-Kodo. 13:30 pm : Kumano-kodo Hike 1(Takijiri-Takahara), (3,7km / 2.3miles, 2-3 hours) 16:30 pm : Arrives at Takahara Area Hotel
◆ Accommodation : 2 person per room. Over night at Hotel in Takahara area: Dinner, Breakfast, Lunch Box for next day included.
Day 2: Short hike covering the last portion of Kumano Kodo trail between Hosshinmon-Oji and Kumano Hongu Taisha. This is the locality of more than 3000 Kumano Shinto Shrines. Visit the largest Torii Shrine gate in Japan in Oyunohara. After the hike enjoy relaxing the mind and body in a unique river onsen.
08:30 am : After breakfast , TAXI transfer to Hosshinmon-Oji 09:30 am : Kumano-Kodo Hike Day 2 (Hosshinmon-Oji to Hongu Taisha) 7km / 4.3miles , 3hour *Last portion of Nakahechi route 12:30 pm : Visit to Kumano Hongu Taisha Grand Shrine 13:00 pm : Lunch in Hongu area 14:00 pm : Visit to Kumano hongu heritage center and Oyunohara where stands the most biggest Trii gate in Japan. 15:02 pm : Bus to Kawayu Onsen *10min , check-in hotel 15:30 pm : Experience relaxing in a rare river onsen “Kawayu” / Free time at leisure *Onsen hot spring water from the crystal clear river

Day 3: The final short hike takes your through the Daimonzaka the last portion of Kumano Kodo trial as is approaches to Nachi Taisha Shrine.
Visit the Nachi Taisha Grand Shrine, the Seigantoji temple and finally the famous Nachi waterfalls which is the highest waterfalls in Japan.

08:30 am : Direct taxi transfer from Kawayu onsen to Daimonzaka, Nachi area. (50km/1hour) 09:30 am : Walk up cobblestone stairs “Daimonzaka” 30min + Nachi area walk 1.5hour Visit to UNESCO site ,Nachi Taisha grand shrine / Seigantoji temple / Nachi falls 11:46 am : Bus from Nachi falls to Kii-katsuura station (Nahcinotaki-mae bus stop/Kumano Kotsuu bus) 12:10 pm : Arrives at Kii-katsuura station / Free time *Buy something to eat for Lunch in train 13:05 pm : Limited Express train “Kuroshio No.24”from Kii-katsuura station to Shin-Osaka station. 16:50 pm : Arrives at Shin-Osaka 17:05 pm : JR shinkaisoku train Shin-Osaka to Kyoto 17:29 pm : Arrives at Kyoto station
