Client Testimonials

Here are just a few comments our customers have sent us on their travel to Japan

Linda (Australia) (After delaying they're trip 1.5 yrs. after Big Tsunami they finally decided to visit Japan!)

Couple Trip - (Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Izu)

After all this time, to finally get here and see and do so many wonderful things is fabulous. Our guides were lovely, Atsko showed us through the fish markets and was very helpful in introducing us to Japan, the people and the culture. And the food!

And then Hiro-San, such a lovely man with a great sense of humour. Shame Mt Fuji decided to hide from us ( we finally saw it yesterday from the train). Once again he showed us more of the culture and this time so much of the history as well. We were a little daunted when he presented us with a black egg ;-/ but it was all good!

Midori showed us her lovely city and explained so much of the differences between life between Kyoto and Tokyo. And also some more history - what a rich culture and history you have.

The hotels were all lovely and in great positions - easy access and very comfortable.

And now, here I sit in the sun in the window of the Ryokan after a delicious breakfast, about to take my third and final trip to the baths, having already had a truly amazing banquet for dinner last night and a bedtime massage.

Thank you again for organizing it for us. Linda

Family Ski Trip - (Hokkaido Ski Package, Flights)

The Ski holiday was terrific, again thanks for recommending the best resort. It was our first ski holiday so it was good to have it at a resort that is "beginners - friendly" resort. It offers sufficient challenging slopes for beginners. Quality of the snow was great as it is first attempt for everyone in our family and was very encouraging that by the end of our lessons we were all skiing on our own.

Hotel was good, very efficient. Clean. Enough restaurants and cafes to choose from. Food selection is good too. Price range is wide so one can have a reasonable meal to an expensive one.

Thank you again. We hope to keep in touch as it will not be the last time for us. If you have any special promotions for Japan, please let us know.

I will send you a picture of the family.
Thanks again. Kind regards, Anna

Custom Family Travel - (Tokyo/Sumo/Tsukiji Fish Market, Kyoto/Hiroshima)

It was a perfect combination of planned and spontaneous. We got to see some weddings, deer, museums, an underground shopping mall concert, some gardens, and enjoyed lots of eating!

Food was challenging at first but after we got time-zone adjusted we had good fun choosing food (and eating it!).
I was really happy that you suggested the tours, they really added a lot. I know we could have found the places on our own but we would never have heard the terrific stories each guide had. Like pointing out the beer building and telling us why Carp really is a good name for a baseball team!

Sumo wrestling was very cool! Much more interesting than I expected! I could see that it isn’t just about weight but also about strength and strategy. (Just like other sports...) The hotels were great and convenient. It felt like “home” when we returned to it Friday after our long train ride back from Hiroshima.

Best of all, my daughters had a great time. They are grown now making this the last father-daughter trip so it was especially important to me that it all go well. I am so thankful to you for all your help: your encouragement, selections, ideas and for your help rebooking. And for checking up on us via email; it was really great to know we could reach out to you if we had a question or problem.

Again, thank you so much! If you ever come to San Francisco please let me know!
Best, -Mark

Custom Group Travel - (Kamakura/Yokohama, Mt. Fuji/Hakone, Kyoto/Osaka, Tokyo)

My group was very happy with the tour package from you. Everything went well and wonderful. Thanks a lot to you and to My Tokyo Guide. Meanwhile, I've recommended My Tokyo Guide to one of my friends who is going to have family trip to Japan.

Regarding to the feedback that you asked for, here are some details that I can share to you: Generally, the tours met my group's needs. We skipped some places because of the crowd. But all the tours went smoothly and met our expectations.

- All the tour guides were kind and good, but Mr. Hiro Iijima is the best one. We really like him. Children adored his kindness. He's very helpful, very care and sensitive to our needs. Mr Hiro Iijima prepared the tour very well and detail. He knew the details and histories of every places very well. It seems like he had a very well preparations before he guided us. He also gave us very good options and tried to find the best arrangements for our tour. His English is fluent; He can explain all the things clearly. He has made our tour wonderful and we felt as if we are his old friends.

Those are some thoughts that I can share. Hope it can be a good feedback to you. Once again, thank you so much. Also many thanks to My Tokyo Guide. We're glad that we've chosen My Tokyo Guide. All the best to you all. Wish you a success coming year.

Custom Travel - (Tokyo, Kamakura, Nikko, Takayama, Kyoto, Izu)

The accomadations were great. For Tokyo, being 5min from Shinagawa station meant that we could get around to the major parts of the city with the rail pass, and it had a great view of Tokyo Tower. It was a good way to get into things.

The Ryokan in Takayama was absolutely amazing. The service and attention to detail was phenomenal-- they noticed that my husband's birthday was during our stay there and we were surprised to see they had prepared a special birthday dinner for us, as well as give him a small bouquet of flowers and a gift. The ryokan itself was gorgeous and the food was absolutely spectacular.

The hotel at Kyoto was wonderfully positioned and extremely nice. It was nice to have a hotel of that quality right at the train station, so that we didn't have to go far after spending a few hours on the train with our luggage. Shimoda was a little more casual than Takayama, but the views couldn't be beat, and the staff there was really friendly (our hostess didn'¨t speak English, so it was one of the few times I got a chance to try out my beginner's Japanese). Being right on the ocean like that was quite an experience.

The Ryokan in Ito was also an amazing experience. The food, the service-- all of it wonderful. I thought that the fact that it was a large ryokan might make it less of an experience than what we had in Takayama, but I was quickly proven wrong. Our hostess was also delightful-- very attentive and very friendly (and she also happened to speak excellent English). The food was exceptional and the rooms were as well.

Overall, the accomdations were fantastic and were exactly what I was hoping for for my husband's first trip to Japan.

The tours were just as good. Lovely people, very knowledgeable, and wonderful guides (5 out of 5 to all of them, really). I have nothing but praise and superlatives for the the trip in general-- it was exactly what I was hoping for: a slightly off-the-beaten-path tour around the country that had some amazing sights and where on a few occasions, we were the only Westerners we'd see for most of the day. It was the perfect blend of guides and discovery on our own and we both felt it was just an incredible trip.

If we can find the excuse to come back to Japan sometime soon, we will definitely use MyTokyoGuide again.

Thanks again for all of your help, and I hope we get to collaborate again!

Custom Travel - (Tokyo, Hakone, Takayama, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Izu)

Thank you so much for organising this tour for me. It was fantastic! It was perfect in every detail. We had very good guides on all trips and even the glimpse of Mt Fuji! The tour of Takayama, Kanazawa and Shirakawa-go was very personal - there were only 3 of us plus the guide. I really loved the food and tried almost anything I could get hold of. I especially loved the amazing dinner and stay at ryokan. It was really unforgettable experience! And all other hotles were also of the highest quality.

I forgot to mention the tea ceremony, I liked it very much. I was the only person, so it was very nice and personal. As I like matcha, I was very pleased to hear about the history of tea ceremony and to learn how to prepare matcha in proper way. The girl leading the ceremony was very skillful and graceful. It was a real art! And then I even could prepare my own cup of matcha. It was also a good oppportunity to buy matcha powder at a very good price.

JR pass is indeed very good deal. Thank you for suggesting this. It gave me freedom to travel on the shinkansen and then to explore Tokyo on my own on the last days using the local JR system. I really want to express my biggest thanks to you as everything worked perfectly. I fell in love with Japan and I am already thinking of coming back. Maybe I will even start to learn the language.

I will keep your contact details and I will definitely ask you for your advice and itinerary for my next trip.
Thank you very, very much!
